EAA Chapter 1027
Monthly
Meeting: Chapter meetings typically occur on the
second Sunday of the month at the clubhouse at Willits Airport/Ells
Field, at Boonville Airport or another announced location. Lunch, beverage and dessert are provided for a $7 donation to the chapter. All pilots of experimental
and certified aircraft as well as people
interested in aviation are welcome to attend!
HISTORICAL AIRCRAFT DISPLAYS Historical Aircraft on are display to the general public at these locations and times:
- Willits Airport: Second Sunday of each month for EAA chapter meetings.
- Ukiah Airport: The first consecutive Friday and Saturday of each month from 10AM to 2PM
- Boonville Airport: Third Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (707) 895-2075 for information.
Experienced pilots and aircraft owners are available at these events to answer questions.

CLUBHOUSE is
located on Ells Field (028, CTAF 122.8, Rwy 34, R.H.) on the mountain
two miles northwest of the City of Willits which is approx. 120 miles
North of San Francisco on Hwy 101. Runways are 16 (primary
takeoff, downslope, left pattern) and 34 (primary landing, upslope,
right pattern) with PAPI (5-clicks). Our mailing

2nd Annual Boonville Salute To Veterans Fly In
Willits EAA Chapter 1027 and the Boonville Wing of EAA 1027 announce the second annual Salute To Veterans fly-in. This is our time to honor all of our veterans that fought for the freedoms we enjoy which include our freedom to fly. The event is to be held at Boonville airport, D83, on Sunday, November 10th from 11 AM to 3 PM.
Cap'n Kirk Wilder and his fantastic crew will be presenting a burger barbecue with all the trimmings and will include a beverage and dessert for a $7 donation. We will have a 50/50 cash raffle for an opportunity to win some money and support the Chapter.
There will be a flying salute to veterans with a group fly-over of the beautiful Anderson Valley demonstrating our freedom to fly and honoring the vets.

October Joint Chapter Fly-out To McClellan Air Museum
Willits EAA Chapter 1027 is hosting a joint EAA chapter fly-out to McClellan field (KMCC) on Sunday, October 20th to have lunch and tour the California Air Museum on the field. All pilots and their guests are welcome. McCllellan Jet Services will be providing those in our group with a $.50 a gallon discount on avgas, full service, and providing us with two complimentary tickets to the museum per plane upon purchasing fuel.
Arrivals will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30AM at the MJS ramp. During this time pilots will fuel and get their tickets. At 11:30 the group will be transported to the Lions Gate hotel on the field to have lunch at the former Officers Club, then will tour the museum. Please RSVP at eaglenestnorth@juno.com. If you are representing a group, just give us a head count.
Boonville Airport Day and Fly-In
Come join the party!! Willits EAA Chapter 1027 announces the 14th
Annual Boonville Aiport Day and Fly-In August 9th, 10th, and 11th at
historic Boonville, CA airport (D83). EAA Chapter 1027 member Cap'n Kirk
Wilder and his crew are hosting another three-day party/fly-in inviting
everyone who likes to have a good time with other aviators and their
guests.
The party starts Friday night, the 9th with the "Pre Party
Party" in the hangar with pizza, drinks and local "entertainment." Bed
down in the available camping area for the Saturday Airport Day with
potluck dinner and drinks that evening, with festivities starting at
noon and dinner at 5 PM.
Historical Aircraft display certificates

The 2nd Annual International
Wings And Wieners Fly-In
Free Food! Willits EAA Chapter 1027 celebrated a great year of successful events by inviting all pilots and
their guests to The 2nd Annual International Wings And Wieners
Fly-In. This year the event was held at Ukiah airport, KUKI, on
Sunday , July 14th from 11AM to 3PM. Lunch was FREE, with quality beef
hotdogs, potato salad and beverage.The event also featured aircraft
participating in the Historical Aircraft display program, with display
certificates given for free. Cool indoor air conditioned seating was
available.

Boonville Spring Fly-In
is "A GO!"
Spring has sprung! Time to fly -- to the Boonville Spring Fly-In!
On Sunday, April 14, Kirk Wilder hosts the EAA Chapter monthly meeting at the Boonville (D83)
Airport. Hamburgers, side dishes, beverages and dessert will be offered
(donation requested). Time is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Historic Aircraft
on display and certificates offered.
Bring a friend or two and introduce them to the fun of flying to the
Anderson Valley and sharing lunch and springtime with friendly pilots
-- and maybe a grump or two (you know who you are!).

Everything A Pilot Must Know
About Airport Signs
Retired
professional pilot and EAA member Ron Hunt offers a presentation on
"Everything a Pilot Must Know About Airport Signs" at the next chapter
meeting, Sunday, March 10th.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include lunch,
beverages and dessert (donation requested). Historic aircraft will be
on display and certificates offered. Attendance earns FAA Wings credits.
The April chapter meeting will be held in conjunction with the Boonville Spring Fly-In, Sunday, April 14 from 11 to 3 at the Boonville airport.

Light Sport and Experimental Aircraft
Safety Presentations
Thirty pilots and aviation enthusiasts attended the January meeting of EAA Chapter 1027, with Paul Trexel's presentation on Light Sport and
Experimental Amatuer Built Aircraft. The second half will be offered at the February 10th
meeting and will continue discussing LSA and experimental/amateur-built
categories. Attendance at the first presentation is not required. The
discussions include input from experienced owner/builders and questions
from the audience. Attendance earns FAA Wings credits.
The January get-together had ten aircraft fly-in beginning about 11 a.m
with lunch served at about noon. The February 10th meeting will do the
same. The menu features Capt. Jim Harden's infamous Pulled-Pork Sandwiches, cole slaw, beverages and frozen ice cream. Pilots and the public are welcome to attend. Lunch and dessert are provided for a $7 donation.
Light Sport and Experimental Aircraft
Safety Presentations
EAA Chapter 1027's first meeting of 2013 will be on Sunday, January 13th, at Willits
airport, upstairs in the club house beginning at noon. We will feature a two-part presentation
prepared by the FAA Western Pacific Regional Office on Light Sport and
Experimental Amatuer Built aircraft. The presentation will include:
- Reduction of GA Fatal Accidents
- NTSB Safety Study Recommendations
- What
Is A Light Sport Aircraft
- Operating Rules and Recommendations
- Light Sport
Repairman Certification and Training
- Light Sport Inspection and
Maintenance
The second part will be presented at the February 10th meeting.
The January meeting will be held rain or shine, and is an advertised
Historical Aircraft Display Day, weather permitting. Come join us for some fun ,
learning, and a bowl or two of Chili and sourdough bread for a $7
donation.
