EAA Chapter 1027
Monthly Meeting:
Chapter meetings typically occur on the second Sunday of the month at the clubhouse at Willits Airport/Ells Field, at Boonville Airport or another announced location. Lunch, beverage and dessert are provided for a $8 donation to the chapter. All pilots of experimental and certified aircraft as well as people interested in aviation are welcome to attend!

HISTORICAL AIRCRAFT DISPLAYS
  Historical Aircraft on are display to the general public at these locations and times weather permitting:
  • Little River Airport (KLLR): Third Saturday of each month, 9AM to 1PM
  • Willits Airport: Second Sunday of each month for EAA chapter meetings.
  • Ukiah Airport: The first consecutive Friday and Saturday of each month from 10AM to 2PM April through November
  • Boonville Airport: Third Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (707) 895-2075 for information.
  • Ocean Ridge Airport, Third Sunday of each month - 10AM to 3PM.
  • Lampson Airport - First Wednesday of each month - 10AM to 2PM.
Experienced pilots and aircraft owners are available at these events to answer questions.

Ells Field, Willits CA (O28)
EAA 1027 CLUBHOUSE is located on Ells Field (028, CTAF 122.8, Rwy 34, R.H.) on the mountain two miles northwest of the City of Willits which is approx. 120 miles North of San Francisco on Hwy 101.  Runways are 16 (primary takeoff, downslope, left pattern) and 34 (primary landing, upslope, right pattern) with PAPI (5-clicks). SPECIAL NOTE:
Aircraft older than 35 years may be eligible for California property tax exemption. For more information refer to the BOE website.

6th Annual Boonville Spring Fly-In

We kick off the 2016 spring flying season with the 6th Annual Boonville Spring Fly-In sponsored by EAA Chapter 1027 and co-hosted by Cap'n Kirk Wilder and the Boonville (D83) wing members of EAA 1027. This year we will be serving great barbecued burgers with all of the trimmings, cold beverages, and desert with ice cream. Because of the popularity of this event, we will adding an additional burger chef and additional grill for faster service. This is a great venue to see old friends, display your plane with certificate provided, and do some hangar flying, and maybe take home some cash from the 50/50 cash drawing. We'll see you there, Sunday, April 10th from 11AM to 3PM.

Willits Fly-In

Brunch On the Greens

Willits EAA Chapter 1027 is sponsoring this great fly-in opportunity to have brunch at one of Northern California's most beautiful golf courses, Brooktrails. This course has spectacular redwood trees among the professionally manicured fairways and greens kept by a full time professional greens keeper. This course has hosted a number of celebrity events throughout the years, and this is your opportunity to experience it's beauty.

Breakfast or lunch will be prepared by "The Grill" at the golf course, serving great food with a variety of delicious selections, prepared to order, with reserved seating under the towering redwoods. You and your guest will be provided courtesy transportation from Ells Field Willits Municipal Airport (O28) for the 5 minute ride to the golf course, and return. Guests will have time to play 9 holes of golf, or a round of the popular Disc Golf after dining. Rental clubs and discs available. Benbow Inn Brunch Fly-Out II

Treat yourself and your companions to a luxury brunch on Sunday, September 11th at the historic Benbow Inn, just south of Garberville, CA on the Eel River in the heart of the California Redwoods. This famous hotel has catered to pilots since their beginning in 1926 with aircraft landing on the golf course road and taxiing to the hotel.

Dine on the beautiful patio where Spencer Tracy, Alan Ladd, Clark Gable and others dined on the always excellent food with excellent service.

We won't be landing on the golf course, but will be landing at the Garberville airport, O16, where you and your guests we be picked up by Benbow Inn staff and transported to the hotel, and back.

The first airport pick up will be at 10:30 AM for the 15 minute ride to the hotel Sunday morning, September 11th.

5th Annual International Wings and Wieners Fly-In
and
Aviation Swap Meet

This year we've moved this event to October 9th at the Ukiah airport so as to enjoy cooler weather. We've also added a new feature, the Aviation Swap Meet, where you can bring anything aviation related that you would like to sell or trade, be it an airplane or aviation related items. Yes, there is such a thing as a free lunch. EAA Chapter 1027, two time host of the EAA B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" at Ukiah will be barbecuing great all-beef hot dogs, served with potato salad and a cold beverage; free of charge. Display your historical plane and get a free certificate of display. Come early, bring guests, the event starts at 11AM to 3 PM, October 9th, at Ukiah Municipal Airport, KUKI.





The 5th Annual Boonville Salute To Veterans Fly-In

EAA Chapter 1027 is honored again to join Capn' Kirk Wilder and the Boonville wing of 1027 to host the Salute To Veterans Fly-In honoring all vets who have served, and who are now serving. Join us in honoring them at a great barbecue lunch with a lot of hangar flying and a chance to take home some cash with a 50/50 drawing. We hope to have another guest appearance of the Livermore Van's Air Force and their fleet of RV's. Bring a vet with you, so we can honor them. Certificates of display will be available to all participating in the Historical Aircraft program. The event will be Sunday, November 13th, from 11 AM to 3 PM.
