Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1027 is pleased to announce that we will be bringing a historic Ford Tri-motor airliner to Lampson Field, Lakeport, CA for providing rides to the public January 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd.
This Ford Tri-Motor 5-AT-B (3 engines of 420 horsepower each) was built in 1928 by the Ford Motor Company that built 199 of them. They were the first all-metal, multi-engine airliners in the US. More recently the aircraft was owned by Evergreen International Airlines who gave the plane a complete restoration to factory new condition, with modern safety mechanical upgrades. The plane is configured to carry 10 passengers in comfort, with each passenger having a great view window, perfect for photography, and the cabin's width and large windows allow the passengers to see out both sides of the airplane.
