EAA Chapter 1027
Monthly Events:
Chapter events typically occur on the second Saturday of the month at the clubhouse at Willits Airport/Ells Field, 10AM to 2PM or at Boonville Airport or another announced location or time. Lunch, beverage and dessert are provided for a $8 donation to the chapter. All pilots of experimental and certified aircraft as well as people interested in aviation are welcome to attend!

HISTORICAL AIRCRAFT DISPLAYS
  Historical Aircraft on are display to the general public at these locations and times weather permitting:
  • Little River Airport (KLLR): Third Saturday of each month, 9AM to 1PM
  • Willits Airport: Second Saturday of each month from 10AM to 2PM.
  • Ukiah Airport: The first Saturday of each month from 10AM to 2PM
  • Boonville Airport: Third Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (707) 895-2949 for information.
  • Ocean Ridge Airport, Third Sunday of each month - 10AM to 3PM.
  • Lampson Airport - First Wednesday of each month - 10AM to 2PM.
Experienced pilots and aircraft owners are available at these events to answer questions.

Ells Field, Willits CA (O28)
EAA 1027 CLUBHOUSE is located on Ells Field (028, CTAF 122.8, Rwy 34, R.H.) on the mountain two miles northwest of the City of Willits which is approx. 120 miles North of San Francisco on Hwy 101.  Runways are 16 (primary takeoff, downslope, left pattern) and 34 (primary landing, upslope, right pattern) with PAPI (5-clicks). SPECIAL NOTE:

Basic Med

Fly to Boonville Airport (D83) to see your Basic Med doctor! The Anderson Valley Health Center is located adjacent to Boonville Airport and a short walk from transient parking. Dr. Mark Apfel is encouraging pilots that wish to have their Basic Med physical performed to contact him and schedule an appointment. The Health Center is located at 13500 Airport Road, Boonville, CA 95415 and their phone number is (707) 895-3477. This is a great opportunity for pilots wishing to obtain their Basic Med certificate.

9th Annual Boonville Spring Fly-In





EAA Chapter 1027 kicks off the Spring flying season at Boonville (D83) with the assistance of Cap'n Kirk Wilder and the Boonville wing of Chapter 1027. It will be Saturday, April 13th from 11AM to 3PM. If you have something to sell or trade this is a good opportunity to do that. We will have the 50/50 raffle, a chance for you to win some cash.

This is a great event to get together and enjoy a great barbecue of premium beef burgers and all the trimmings plus desert. If you happen to be a vegan, bring your tofu and we'll barbecue it for you. :-) Bring a friend who might be interested in aviation.

Willits Young Eagles Rally
and Barbecue




Parents this is a great opportunity to introduce your kids to aviation, and enjoy a great burger barbecue. Kids will get a free airplane ride by an experienced pilot, and will receive their own logbook, a free online pilot ground school course, a $150 reimbursement to take the pilot written test, and a $150 reimbursement for their first training flight with a certified flight instructor, all for free. For kids 8 through 17 years of age.

The kids will be flown around the Willits valley on about a 20 minute flight, and parents can fly with their kids on aircraft with 4 seats.

Date and times to be announced in Willits local newspapers.

The public is welcomed to the airport to see the planes and enjoy the barbecue.

Fly-in and display your aircraft for a display certificate and enjoy a great Philly Cheesesteak sandwich lunch. Saturday, June 8th 10 AM to 2 PM.

The public is welcome to come up to the airport to see the airplanes and enjoy a great lunch!

The Ukiah Food and Fuel Fly-In



Fly in to display your plane and enjoy a great barbecued pulled pork sandwich with all the trimmings, with air conditioned seating available. Fill up on full service fuel discounted $1.00 off the regular price. Sponsored by EAA Chapter 1027 and the Ukiah Regional Airport. 10 AM to 2 PM, Saturday August 3rd.

Van's RV Fly-In
Featuring the Oshkosh 2018 "One Week Wonder" RV-12







EAA Chapter 1027 is proud to announce that the 2018 Oshkosh "One Week Wonder" Van's RV-12 will be making a tour stop at Willits airport, O28 on Sunday, September 8th. The RV-12 was built and flown in one week at Oshkosh Air Venture 2018 by a core of 100 volunteers, assisted by 2500 others who at least pulled a rivet.

The EAA Directors of Chapters will be flying the plane and will be on hand to talk about the RV-12 which will be on display for all to see.

All aircraft are welcome to the event along with anyone interested in aircraft and building aircraft. Come join us on Sunday, September 8th for the fly-in, aircraft display day, and a great barbecue grilled tri-tip sandwich lunch from 10AM to 2 PM, with lunch from 11:30 to 1:30.

Fifth Annual Benbow Inn Brunch Fly-Out

Treat yourself and your companions to a luxury brunch on Saturday, October 12th at the historic Benbow Inn, just south of Garberville, CA on the Eel River in the heart of the California Redwoods. This famous hotel has catered to pilots since their beginning in 1926 with aircraft landing on the golf course road and taxiing to the hotel.

Dine on the beautiful patio where Spencer Tracy, Alan Ladd, Clark Gable and others dined on the always excellent food with excellent service.

We won't be landing on the golf course, but will be landing at the Garberville airport, O16, where you and your guests we be picked up by Benbow Inn staff and transported to the hotel, and back.

The first airport pick up will be at 10:30 AM for the 15 minute ride to the hotel Saturday, October 12th.

The 8th Annual Boonville Salute To Veterans Fly-In



EAA Chapter 1027 is honored again to join Capn' Kirk Wilder and the Boonville wing of 1027 to host the Salute To Veterans Fly-In honoring all vets who have served, and who are now serving. Join us in honoring them at a great barbecue lunch with a lot of hangar flying and a chance to take home some cash with a 50/50 drawing. We hope to have another guest appearance of the Livermore Van's Air Force and their fleet of RV's. Bring a vet with you, so we can honor them. Certificates of display will be available to all participating in the Historical Aircraft program. The event will be Saturday, November 9th, from 11 AM to 3 PM.
