EAA Chapter 1027 Monthly Events: Chapter events typically occur on the second Saturday of the month at the clubhouse at Willits Airport/Ells Field, 11AM to 3PM or at Boonville Airport or another announced location or time. Lunch, beverage and dessert are provided for a $10 donation to the chapter. All pilots of experimental and certified aircraft as well as people interested in aviation are welcome to attend! This offers the advantages of being up out of the ground fog at 2,000 feet, hard surfaced parking for the planes if the ground is wet, an airport webcam for fly-in guests to check airport area weather for their flight to Willits, and importantly, have fuel available at the airport, currently priced at $5.00*, 100LL.*price subject to change The fly-in will feature an aircraft display with event sheets and sign-offs available, and a special two-entree barbecue for the special event. Featured will be fresh-grilled lean sirloin beef burgers and Alaska wild, ocean caught salmon burgers with all the trimmings, chips, sodas and bottled spring water, for desert featuring Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Our runway, 16/34 has been rehabbed and reconfigured to 2705X75 with paved overruns at each end. Runway 34, upslope, is the preferred runway in light winds. In this 78th year anniversary of D-Day, we pay tribute to all of those who sacrificed to allow us to have this freedom by exercising that freedom. Come join us and enjoy a great barbecue of grilled beef sirloin burgers, Alaska wild-caught salmon burgers with all the trimmings, beverages, and Haagen-Dazs ice cream for dessert. This is an aircraft display day, with display forms and sign offs provided. Saturday, June 18th, 11 to 3, barbecue served from 11:30 to 1:30. |
